Static Sites vs Squarespace
Squarespace templates can look finished on day one. The constraint shows up when the business no longer fits the template.
Templates shape the business backward
Squarespace is good at a polished default. The information architecture then has to fit the template’s sections, blogs, and commerce assumptions. A fishing guide, a clinic, and a newsroom do not share that shape.
A static site starts from the customer journey and builds the pages that journey needs.
Design control is not the same as code control
Tweaking colors inside a builder is not the same as owning the markup, the headings, and the performance budget. Accessibility and SEO both live in that markup.
When the template fights a semantic heading order or a keyboard path, the static rebuild is often faster than another round of workarounds.
A calm editor is not the only way to edit
Teams fear leaving Squarespace because the editor is familiar. Familiar is not the same as appropriate. Structured content, a small set of page types, and a reviewable deploy can be simpler than a visual canvas full of one-off sections.
We design the editing path for the changes the client actually makes.
