Editing
Editing a Website Without a Page Builder
You do not need a canvas of nested boxes to change a price, a paragraph, or a seasonal notice.
Most edits are data, not layout
Hours, prices, bios, trip dates, and menu items should be fields. Changing them should not require dragging a section or worrying that a column will collapse.
Page builders mix content and layout in the same gesture. That is why small edits become layout bugs.
The editing path can match the team
Some clients want to email a change and have us ship it. Some want a headless CMS with a preview. Some have a staff member who can edit Markdown in Git. All three can publish a static site.
We pick the path from how often the site changes and who is available to review it. We do not start from a builder subscription.
Preview still exists
A static workflow can open a preview URL for a branch before it becomes production. That is a calmer review than editing the live homepage inside a builder.
The live site changes when the deploy finishes, not while someone is still dragging.
