Builder Subscriptions vs an Owned Website
The monthly builder fee is not the cost. The cost is the fee plus the lock-in plus the rebuild you cannot avoid later.
Subscriptions hide the exit fee
Wix, Squarespace, and hosted builders are priced as monthly plans. WordPress is often priced as hosting plus premium plugins plus someone’s time to update them. None of those invoices include the cost of leaving.
A static project has a build cost and a hosting cost. The exit cost is lower because the source was yours on day one.
Do not pretend the static site is free
Domain, DNS, edge hosting, email delivery, and occasional development all cost money. A serious site is not a side effect of a free tier.
The comparison is which costs buy ownership and performance, and which costs buy another month of permission to edit.
Price the project
We do not publish a fake package that claims to replace every builder plan for one number. Content volume, migration, and integrations change the work.
The architectural savings are real. They are not a coupon.
